Isa ang tigyawat sa mga maituturing na karaniwang problema sa balat.
Mayroon iba't-ibang sanhi ng pagkakaroon ng tigyawat o acne vulgaris, sabi ni Dr. Zharlah Gulmatico-Flores ng Philippine Dermatological Society sa isang panayam sa programang "Good Vibes" sa DZMM.
Isa na rito ang genetics o lahi.
Paliwanag ni Flores, maaaring manahin mula sa mga magulang o iba pang kaanak ang pagkakaroon ng tigyawat.
Sanhi rin nito ang pagbabago ng hormones sa katawan.
"Kapag magkakaroon ka ng menstruation or dumadaan ka sa puberty stage, [lumalabas ang tigyawat]," paliwanag ni Flores.
Dagdag pa ni Flores, maaaring tigyawatin din ang mga babaeng dumadaan sa menopause na panahong nagbabago rin ang hormones sa katawan.
Stress aniya ang isa pang sanhi ng pagkakaroon ng tigyawat.
"Ang stress kasi maraming pwedeng gawin 'yan sa katawan natin. From nawawalan ka ng buhok, nagkakaroon ka eczema hanggang sa pwede ka rin magkaroon ng pimples," ani Flores.
Paggamot sa tigyawat
Binalaan naman ni Flores ang publiko na iwasang kutkutin ang tigyawat.
"The more na kinukutkot mo, lalong lumalalim 'yong bacteria, the more na lalala siya," aniya.
Pinabulaanan din ni Flores na may bisa ang paggamit ng toothpaste laban sa tigyawat.
"Baka minsan mag-cause pa siya ng dermatitis [rashes] or irritation, mas lalo siyang lumalala. Huwag ka na lang mag-resort do'n," aniya.
Payo ni Flores, gumamit na lamang ng mga over-the-counter medicine o iyong gamot na inirekomenda ng pharmacist sa botika.
Huwag ring magmamadali sa paggamot ng mga tigyawat dahil maaaring tumagal ng apat hanggang walong linggo bago umepekto ang mga gamot.
Mainam ding magpatingin sa espesyalista o dermatologist kung paulit-ulit at hindi talaga nawawala ang mga tigyawat.
